How to upload an image, video or document to AEM.



Alert: ALL ASSETS File Naming Conventions: Must not include spaces, capitals or special characters Spaces must be replaced by hyphens ('-') Must be descriptive - use keywords related to the image's content. All newly uploaded images must include the date i.e. "beverages-pouring-milk-coffee-091023" If uploading multiple versions of the same image, add "a,b,c" i.e. "beverages-pouring-milk-coffee-091023a"

Tip: Tip! If uploading an image: https://resizeimages.com/ Go to this site and ensure your image canvas size and image file size are both correct before uploading to the website.

Tip: IMAGE CANVAS AND FILE SIZE: Website ranking can refer to the overall ranking of your website (e.g., domain rating), or how close to the first page (or top of the first page) of search results your webpage is when a user searches for specific terms. Google uses a host of metrics within its algorithm to determine what goes on the front page of search results, and the quality of your images (and the user experience they generate) are part of the current algorithm. https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/google-images

1. Navigate to https://aemauthor.fonterra.com/aem/start.html

2. Click the "Email address:" field.

3. Click the Assets folder.

4. Click the Files folder.

5. Locate and click "Fonterra AEM Nutiani"

Uploading Images

6. Locate the correct folder to upload your asset to.

Tip: IMAGES > Page Images 1280 by 720 pixels 16:9 Folder Folder: https://aemauthor.fonterra.com/assets.html/content/dam/nutiani/images/page-images This folder is only for the large home page slider background images and the large image at the top of a page (ie: articles) Image canvas size: 1280 × 720 px (Aspect ratio: 16:9) Image file size: max of 150kb

Tip: IMAGES > Background Image 1920 x 1080 pixels 16:9 Folder https://aemauthor.fonterra.com/assets.html/content/dam/nutiani/images/images-banner This folder is only for the large home page slider background images and the large image at the top of a page (ie: articles) Image canvas size: 2280 × 1282 px (Aspect ratio: 16:9) Image file size: max of 300kb

Alert: Please note: All "Background Image 1920 x 1080 pixels 16:9" (large images that are located at the top of the page) and "Page Image 1280 x 720 pixels 16:9" (images that are within the content on the page) are only to uploaded under this "Images" folder. This gives other authors ease of locating imagery and visibility of what is already available.

7. Click into the folder you have the image ready to upload.

8. Open your desktop folder with the correctly optmised and named image(s) and just drag and drop as many files as you like together.

9. Now all your images will display (you may need to do a hard refresh if the "processing..." label stays too long: Ctrl and F5)
